Top 2 International Golf Course Dog Calendars!

Max was also Mr. May in the 2015 LebanonTurf / Golf Course Superintendent’s Association of America Dog Days of Turf Calendar & he placed 3rd in their 2015 Turf Dog of the Year Contest!

Both calendars are distributed to golf course superintendents and turf industry professionals nationally and internationally.

This is the write up that accompanied Max’s photo in the 2015 calendar:

Max, a 7-year-old Labradoodle, has been the official canine greeter and a grounds crew member at Ironwood Glf Course in Byron Center, Mich., since he was a puppy. He spends every afternoon with his favorite pal, course horticulturist Kim Davidson, tending to the course’s renowned flowerbeds and monitoring the local wildlife. He loves to swim in the ponds, check the woods and flowerbeds for critters, stop for a snack break at the clubhouse, and say hello to all the golfers, especially the ones that have treats for him. He can also dig a hole in a matter of seconds and has flushed out his fair share of voles, moles, chipmunks, muskrats, and, most recently, a woodchuck. By the end of the day he is one tired, grubby dog! Golfers always want to know where he is and say he is living the perfect dog life.

Max is owned by Dave and Joy Bradley. They have owned and operated Ironwood, a public 18-hole course, for the last 40 years. Kim Davidson, their daughter, has been the course horticulturist for the past 14 years. She is a 2001 graduate of Michigan State University’s four-year Horticulture program and is an associate member of GCSAA along with being a Michigan Certified Green Industry Professional and MSU Master Naturalist.
